Party Picnic!

Aloha! Talofa! Mabuhay! Maayong adlaw! Warmest Greeting to everyone out there!

Yesterday was a nice day! We had a big get together. A friend, Cheryl, is moving to Hawaii, and yesterday was her going away party. It was also her baby shower, as she is pregnant with twins! Going to Hawaii is a big blessing and joy, but being pregnant really makes it special. It was also the birthday party for Miss Bernie’s twins. They are such a handful for her, but you can see how great she is with them. They even learned all the moves from the Asian Pacific Heritage dances.

Jim and Cheryl’s hubby, Ron, ran the grill and cooked up such wonderful meats. There was chicken, pork, pork belly, bratwurst, and the list goes on. Everyone brought something to eat. I brought rice and bico. There was potato salad, mac and cheese, vegetable platters, salad, corn, and so much more! It truly was a feast.

Of course, the best part was all the friends and fun. Hubby, Jim, and Dave spent a lot of time together. Hubby said he told them some jokes and they talked about grilling. Hubby spent the biggest part of his time watching and taking pictures. Jasmine, our little princess, was so happy! She loves the twins and had so much fun being with them. She also loved hanging out with Joy, Heather, Kayana, and the big girls. The girls were so nice to Jasmine and made her feel so nice playing with her and all the other kids! I’d like to thank them all for being nice and playing so well together!

Hubby even had a couple beers! That’s unusual for him. But, it was a nice place and a nice time with such wonderful folks. Jasmine broke out into dance when they played the song “Umbrella,” by Beyonce. It was so cute! One of the guys gave her a dollar tip for dancing and entertaining them. It was silly and at the same time so cute!

Finally, the big moment arrived! First, the boys “blew” out the candles, and then it was gift time. They were excited with every gift they received. It was magic to see! Then it was Cheryl’s turn. She and Ron seemed so happy. It’s a bit sad to see a friend go, but it’s nice to see them going somewhere so nice and with so much ahead of them!

We cleared out about 7:30 in the evening. It was chilly for most of the afternoon, but we had so much warmth, sharing our time and friendship.

Well, hubby fixed up some pics. I’m posting a couple now, and the rest will be posted later. I'll also post this same one at An Angel's Journey.

A Decent Start

Aloha! Well, hubby has finished some pictures, as you've seen. He's also finished a couple videos.

I pray you were all blessed with a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We certainly were!

Well, here are a couple videos as promised. The first one is Jasmine performing solo. The second is the group dancing to "Pate Pate" by Te Vaka.

I shot this video while hubby was snapping pics. Our little princess certainly isn't shy! It's amazing how at 4 years old she can learn the dances so well.

When you watch this, you can see how hard everyone worked to put something special together. We think they more than succeeded.

On that note, I'll let you go. I pray that god will bless all of you with a great week ahead, filled with love and joy!
Ciao!

Asian Pacific Heritage

Aloha! Talofa! Mabuhay! Maayong adlaw! As many of you know, May is Asian Pacific Heritage month. This is a time to recognize the contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders, and a time to celebrate our cultures. Here in Hohenfels we celebrated on May 14th, with a gathering of our community to celebrate.

One of the highlights for us was when Miss Bernie taught Jasmine a few dance moves and let Jasmine go up and do a solo show for quite some time. Jasmine felt like she was the star of the show! Thanks to Miss Bernie and to all the girls for making Jasmine feel like a part of the team, and thank you for your hard work to put on such a nice show.

You can read more about the celebration here. I am posting many of the pictures here today, and will be posting some at my Bravenet page. I'm also posting a couple videos in the next post.

Let's remember today is Memorial Day. This is a day to remember the sacrifices that made us free. Those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom are those we should be remembering and praying for today. Remember to pray for their families, and for our nation. May our children never have to make the sacrifices they made for us. God bless everyone out there, and God bless our military and their families.

I look forward to seeing all your comments and blogs soon. Thanks for visiting!

FEST..ive Photos!

Greetings to all! As you've probably read, I loaded only pictures either taken by daddy, or of daddy with Jasmine. I had too many to post at once, expecially after the last few batches. I also slipped in a couple of Jasmine solo, just to brighten the page! The photos of Jasmine and a couple others are located on An Angel's Journey, my other blog.

This years fest was incredible. It also featured several firsts for Jasmine, which always highlights the fest for us. Over the years firsts have included kiddy ride, pony ride, big girls ride, and this year it was the bumper cars. Great fun!

Anyway, here are the pics. I hope you will enjoy them as much as we did!

Greetings from the princess!

Welcome to the Hohenfels German American Volksfest!

I'm so beautiful!

Princess and her king!

What a joy to see, my kids are happy!

I'd like a crepe with Nutella, please.

Bavarian and Hohenfels banners highlighted by the ferris wheel.
A great shot by hubby that really shows the beauty of the fest!

Yay! Fireworks!

One of hubby's specialties is fireworks!

Such glorious displays!

I love the effects of the light and smoke here!

BOOM!

A colorful ride. This one is too much for me, I think!

Targets in the game of prize chasing! I had a hard time
popping every balloon I aimed for, but got some prizes for
princess!

A grand shot of the Orion ferris wheel by hubby.

Down the midway, a view of the fest.

Ginger cookies. Everyone shows them with color, so hubby
decided to black and white. I like it.

Another view of the midway. From the other end.

This shot takes my breath away! I love the sunset behind
the ride! SO SO pretty!

And, finally, another view of the ferris wheel,
dominating the fest!

I'd like to thank Art for visiting. Your comments are inspiring and heart warming. I hope you will enjoy Greece and Egypt. I also hope that you are yours are always blessed in all you do. I look forward to more visits!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the photos. I look forward to seeing more of everyone out there soon! God bless you with a great week ahead!
